Alma Guillermoprieto is a writer and human rights activist from Colombia, who has been a visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley. She is the author of several books, including The Broken Cord: Dispatches from Latin America, The Witches: Salem Story, and El Salvador: A Nation Divided.
